A bit about myself...

I’ve spent much of my life working with children and youth in a variety of roles—as a mom to my twin boys, a camp counsellor, an outdoor leader, and a teacher. In every setting, I’ve found joy in building relationships with young people and helping them grow in confidence, ability, and resilience.

My educational background includes a Bachelor’s Degree in Geography, an Honours Bachelor of Outdoor Recreation, Parks and Tourism, and a Bachelor of Education. I have also completed training with the National Institute for Learning Development to become an educational therapist, along with Search and Teach training focused on early intervention for dyslexia.

With decades of experience in both classroom and outdoor education, I bring a relational and individualized approach to my work with students. I aim to help each child feel seen, supported, and capable as they work through challenges and discover their strengths.

Watching young people overcome fears, grow in confidence, and move beyond perceived limitations is at the heart of why I do this work.

Unplugged - Outdoor Play Experiences

Old fashioned play , thoughtfully guided.

Our Unplugged outdoor play experiences are similar to what is often called a forest school. We provide rich, outdoor learning opportunities for children ages 4–12.

Our program gives children the chance to unplug and experience childhood the way it used to be—outdoors, active, and driven by imagination. Their days are filled with free play, exploration, and meaningful connection to the natural world.

Paige's Story

Our daughter loves educational therapy. Her confidence is growing, and she truly enjoys learning with Allison. She especially appreciates the variety of activities, which keep her engaged and motivated. She’s often tired afterwards because her brain has worked hard during the session.

"Educational Therapy is about teaching students how to think, not what to think."
